Diane Major
When Diane Major was brainstorming names for her new consultancy, a colleague well versed in classical music suggested "D Major."…A former aide to then-Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., she brings to her new firm half a dozen clients in the health care space, including CVS Caremark and the Alliance of Community Health Plans. Born in Denver, Major says she is imbued with a "Western independent spirit." After graduating from the University of Utah, she came to Washington in 1989 as an intern for the U.S. Conference of Mayors….She started with then-Rep. Craig Thomas, R-Wyo., who had won a special election to succeed Dick Cheney when he became secretary of Defense. The 46-year-old attributes her first job in Washington to "divine intervention, or perhaps my [late] grandmother working a little magic." Major was most recently a vice president at VH Strategies.
